Recombinant Mouse IL-18 Protein (E. coli)
Interleukin-18 (IL-18) is a proinflammatory cytokine that is produced by many cell types including macrophages, dendtritic cells, microglial cells, and keratinocytes. It is a member of the IL-1 family of cytokines and functions with IL-12 to induce production of IFNg from T cells and NK cells. Uncontrolled release of IL-18 is associated with severe chronic inflammatory diseases. IL-18 is synthesized as an inactive precursor protein that is processed by caspase-1 into its mature secretable form.
