Product Description
Immunoglobulin A (IgA) is an antibody that plays a key role in mucosal immunity, protecting surfaces exposed to the outside world such as the respiratory, gastrointestinal, and urogenital tracts. Found in high levels in saliva, tears, and breast milk, IgA is important for protective mucosal immunity and is often evaluated in studies of vaccines and pathogen transmission. IgA works by neutralizing pathogens and preventing them from attaching to and entering tissues, helping stop infections at their point of entry. IgA exists in two main forms: a monomer in the bloodstream and a dimer (secretory IgA) in mucosal secretions.
Sourced from mouse monoclonal IgG1 with reactivity in ferrets. Protein G purified from hybridoma cell culture supernatant. Applications include ELISA testing. Arrives in a Lyophilized Vial shipped overnight by FedEx.
