Interleukin-31 (IL-31) is involved in TH2-weighted inflammation and cell-mediated immunity. It is produced by activated CD4+ T cells, mast cells, dendritic cells, and other cell types. Its major sites of action are the skin, lung, intestine and the nervous system. IL-31 is a key player in dermatology and is involved in the pathogenesis of various skin disorders
